As Promised

Ok everyone here it is. My first entry in my newly created blog.  I plan on talking about any and everything here. Because I can! So What is this all about you may wonder. Well I turned 40 last February and I had the revelation Oprah said would happen. Something changes at 40. I have a new attitude! It is getting stronger everyday! It is kind of like what Joel from Risky Business had to learn and that is that sometimes you just have to say "What the F"!!!!!!!  So I am finally going to speak about What's on my mind!
I am learning that no matter how much I think I am in control, I am completely powerless. This lesson has shown itself many times during my life. I am sure we can all relate to the catastrophic events that have been occurring in the world. But I am talking about the everyday things that can pop out of nowhere in your own circle.
Last week I made a comment on Facebook about there being now regulations on music.
I get that we have the right to freedom of speech, which is why I am able to write this blog in the first place. What I don't understand is that so much of the top 100 is listened to by our youth and so many songs are putting information about sex, drugs, violence and guns into the music glorifying these issues. The youth are being influenced in negative ways by this music.
A National Institutes of Health study proposes that the part of the brain that restrains risky behavior, including reckless driving, and thinking skills is not fully developed until the age of 25. They can not possibly be processing the messages in the music properly. Which leads to bad choices! We as parents need to protest! As a parent it is almost impossible to keep my children from being exposed, Because it is EVERYWHERE! I can block certain channels on my TV to keep my kids from being exposed to certain shows but I can't block the radio? So what is my choice as an adult? If I am driving in the car do I have to keep the radio off? Because I don't know what  words are going to be on the next song?  Music used to have almost subliminal messages in them. You know, like  in Grace Jones's song "Pull up to the bumper baby"
The lyrics say, Pull up to the bumper baby, in your long black limousine,
Pull up to the bumper baby, drive it in between"
Now this song was released in 1981 I was 11 and had no clue what Grace was really singing about. All though I was singing it all the time!
Today there is no more mystery. Hmmmm what is that song about? What is the metaphor?
No... It is just blunt.... I kissed a girl and i liked it! .... Send a dirty Picture to me ...
All that A@@ hanging out...
End of story
Wow ...What has happened to Music? What is this doing to the children?.....
They are growing up too fast people! let them be kids....
